What's inside

The whole picture, not just calories

Calories are only half the story. kcal.quest connects what you eat with how your body responds and tells you plainly what it sees.

Meal Scanner

Photograph your plate and get calories, protein, carbs and fat, without typing a single ingredient.

Body Composition

Progress photos, a visual body-fat estimate and your weight on one timeline, so you can see the change the mirror hides.

AI Coach

Ask what to cook from what's in your fridge, or why your weight stalled. It knows your data and answers like a person.

Progress Tracking

Charts that answer one question: is what you're doing working?

Honest estimates

A photo is not a kitchen scale. Every analysis shows how far off it might be, and the AI asks when it is unsure instead of inventing a number.

Yours, on your phone

Your meals, photos and body data stay on your device. No account, no server database, no tracking. Photos go to the AI to be read and are stored on none of our servers.

Built in the open. We log our own meals here, every single day.
AI Meal Recognition

Snap a photo. Get instant analysis.

Point your camera at the plate. The AI works out what's there, how big the portions are, and what it all adds up to. And when it's not sure, it asks instead of making things up.

AI Insight
Visible fat loss around the waist. Keep protein where it is and consider one extra rest day. Recovery is lagging behind.
Body Transformation

Your effort, made visible.

Photos, weight and measurements in one timeline. kcal.quest shows whether the work in the kitchen and the gym is actually changing your body, even when the mirror says otherwise.

Photo check-ins
Snap a quick photo once a week. The AI compares them over time, so the slow changes become obvious.
Trends, not noise
Daily weight jumps around. kcal.quest looks at the trend, so one salty dinner doesn't ruin your week.
Goals that adapt
As your body changes, your calorie and macro targets adjust with it.

AI Coach
Nice week, the trend is down. A bit more protein at breakfast could help even more.
Pricing

Free while it is still being built.

There is no payment page, no trial clock and no card field. Nothing about the app is locked behind a plan today, and when that changes you will hear it from us before it costs you anything.

What you get today

  • Every meal scan: a photo, a label, a note or one sentence
  • Body analysis and weight over time
  • The AI coach, on your own logged meals and targets
  • Your journal on your device, no account to create

There is a daily scan cap, because every scan costs us real money at the AI provider. If you hit it, the app tells you plainly rather than failing.

What paying will look like

  • A free tier that stays useful, with a scan allowance
  • One paid plan, priced from what the AI actually costs
  • Monthly or yearly, with the yearly discount written out in full
  • No plan that quietly needs an account we have not built

The price is not set yet. Announcing one before we can take payment would be the kind of thing this app exists not to do.

Free means free, not a trial that expires.

Questions people ask

How does kcal.quest count calories from a photo?

You photograph your plate and the AI estimates the foods, portions and macros in seconds. No barcode hunting or weighing. You can correct any number afterwards.

How accurate is counting calories from a photo?

A photo is an estimate, not a kitchen scale. Every analysis shows how far off it might be, and the AI asks a question when it is unsure instead of inventing a number. Nutrition labels, barcodes and weighed notes are the most accurate.

Do I have to weigh and log my food?

No. The whole point is to skip weighing, counting and writing things down. Photograph the plate, or just describe it in a sentence, and you get calories and macros.

Does it work for Polish food?

Yes. It is built in Polish and English and handles everyday home cooking, Polish dishes included.

Where is my data stored?

On your device. There is no account and no server database. Photos are sent to Anthropic's API for the analysis itself and are stored on none of our servers. You can export a backup to a file or delete everything in one tap.

How much does kcal.quest cost?

Nothing right now. There is no payment page yet, so the whole app is free while it is being built, with a daily cap on AI scans because every scan costs real money at the AI provider. When paying becomes possible there will be a free tier and one paid plan, and you will hear about it before anything starts costing.

Curious what's really on your plate?
